March 17, 2026 marked the 40th anniversary of The Simon Group, a milestone that our founder, Marty, would have been proud of. From the moment he built this agency, it was about the people. Not just The Groupies, as we were so fondly known, but the clients, the media reps, the freelancers…everyone was a friend, and everyone was valued.
From the infamous barbeques with our own house band, The Rhythm Eggs (lead by none other than Marty himself) and our annual holiday card that is still going strong to countless Groupie outings and excursion—including amusement parks, axe throwing, wine tasting, to name a few—our job was not only to do great marketing for our clients, but to fully enjoy the great people we got to work with. Marty instilled that in us.
For the past 13 years, Dave and I have run this agency the way he taught us, with kindness, compassion and tenacity, serving as the marketing team for a bevy of technical and industrial companies (and meeting even more great people along the way!).
As we head into our fourth decade, we’re using this opportunity to start a new legacy. Having found a kindred spirit who embodies so many of the same principles and ideals that we hold dear, we knew it was the right fit. (And he’s the frontman for a classic rock band to boot! Kizmet…)
A New Legacy for The Simon Group
We’re now part of the Leverage Marketing Group, joining a talented team of like-minded B2B marketers that share the same love of helping complex, highly sophisticated companies as we do. Becoming a part of Leverage brings with it an expanded market focus and combined brand-level thinking that we’re excited to share with our clients across the many markets we serve.
Much of The Simon Group’s essence remains the same, which was important criteria to carry on the example Marty set for us. The biggest shifts include Dave’s retirement (he’s looking forward to being a full-time Pop-Pop) and we vacated our beloved farmhouse to embrace being fully remote as part of the expanded team! I’ll continue in my role as VP, Content Marketing with Leverage.
The newly created depth of our 12-person strong team improves our abilities to manage large scale, strategic implementations for our collective client base, while handling the day-to-day tactical execution of integrated programs and campaigns. Our holistic approach of assessing current marketing activities and taking stock of available resources means we focus on the areas where we can add the most value, strengthening the overall marketing program.
As we move into our next several decades, we look back on the road we took to get here, filled with great memories, people and experiences. So, Dave and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the countless clients, vendors, editors, reps…everyone who crossed The Simon Group’s path.
And one final Thank You, Marty, for living your crazy dream of being one of the best B2B agencies (and one of the greatest humans) this world has seen.
